CAMP WANDAWEGA ELKHORN WISCONSIN WEDDING: MELISSA MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY: LARS + CAROLINE

I was a camping major in college, yet at that point, I never had even been camping! True story. Well, almost true. No, no, I was for sure a camping major and with that degree we literally camped for 24 hours, it rained, and we all slept in the van. (And yes, we all fit in the van because there was maybe 8 of us in total majoring in camping) (: So if you want me to make a shelter, survive the bears, win at the show "Alone" I'm not your girl. If you want someone who will bask in the barely standing cabin with wood timber etched walls while it's a bajillion degrees out with no AC, no shower, shedding a nostalgic tear while the storm blows through a hole-ridden screened window after capturing epic time capsule of memories at your Camp Wandawega wedding, I 1,000% am your girl! I may not have tent camped growing up, but the rickety, totally unchanged camp I went to (that no longer exists) is woven into the deepest rooted memories I have. I fully planned on getting married at that camp but it unexpectedly shut-down 2 years before I got married. I say time and time again the best photo locations and the best images come from meaning. There's few places that mean more to me than capturing the authenticity of camp.

From water balloon tosses, and archery competitions, from a twilight bonfire showing of: "The Parent Trap" at the welcome party, to a late night jump in the lake, camp, and Lars & Caroline have a special way of bringing people together. What an incredible weekend celebrating, camping, and capturing!
