CHICAGO WEDDING: IN THE BACKYARD WITH JONATHAN + KYLE

All you need is love...Well, that and an absolutely killer floral backdrop. But kinda for real tho... They’re sellin me real quick on this back yard thing. They almost didn’t have a back yard. They almost didn’t have a house. The very day of the Covid shut-down is when they closed on this house. After date change after date change they decided to skip all initial plans and do something from their new home. Can you imagine? Having to replan your wedding 5 times...(at least) To have a shut-down of the world as we know it, the very day you are closing on your home? To then move in and within weeks plan (again) and throw a wedding there instead?

I joke that all you need is a killer floral backdrop (though holy camoly was hers beautiful!) You need gumption to hit restart that many times. You need a partner that so greatly adores you he’d still be a puddle of tears even if you walked down the aisle in your bathrobe. You need reminders of all the love that surrounds you (even if it not be in quantity of people). Some of that love being from your fur baby, who wouldn’t have been able to be there had original plans A-Z worked out.

But how sweet to look out your new home together’s window in the morning while sipping your coffee and see the yard where you said: “I do.” How neat will it be that years from now when a house eventually gets built up on the empty lot across the street you can point to your pictures and say: Back in the day, that house wasn’t there. We actually took our wedding photos there. To have forever memories in a home you didn’t expect, in circumstances you surely didn’t anticipate, but marrying the one you knew it’d be all along. So happy for you guys!
