DUSABLE HARBOR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS: MELISSA MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY: TOM + KENDRA

I’m fascinated by generational interests within families. Some may come from a long line of wine makers and now wine is their thing. Others may all have gone to, or played at the same college, so catching every home game may be a must. For me, both my parents come from rural midwest- farms. (my husband jokes that we have farm strength; the never ceasing work ethic.) in today’s case, the future groom, Tom, his family has a lineage of sailing. As in his family have coffee table books with his grandfather‘s handwriting of captains logs of his great sailing adventures. Tom’s sailboat wasn’t ready for the season yet, but we went down to the DuSable Harbor anyhow for their engagement photos. A place that not only has meaning now, but all the more as they cross new life chapters in the years to come. Maybe some of these photos will be in the next coffee table book for his family. Here's to embarking on the greatest adventure yet!
