THE OLD POST OFFICE CHICAGO WEDDING: FAIRLIE CHICAGO WEDDING: CHICAGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER MELISSA MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY: BRIAN + JOANNA
While many had posters of celebrities on their walls.I had classic images like Sun Beams into Grand Central station by Hal Morey. Circa NYC 1930. It was one of my inspirations actually for being intrigued by photography. The shadows, the soft and defined beams of light pouring through the lead glass windows the iconic timelessness of it captivated me. This Chicago wedding totally reminded me of that. We did wedding portraits in the Old Post Office Chicago a space originally built in the same era as NYC’s Grand Central had me swooning! The light misted through the windows just like the iconic image did. I feel like most of the time I see images from this space they are bright and airy because of all windows. Fair. I'm never mad at beautiful light, but to me, this had all the timelessness saturated not in light, but the shadows. Just stunning! The wedding reception was at Fairlie Chicago was also built in the exact same time frame! Between these two spaces with my love of architecture and classic photography, I was geeking out! These images won’t be on dorm room walls but I sure think they’ll be iconic on Joanna & Brian’s for a really long time.
