BEN + STEFFY

A wedding day can feel like a blur.

No matter how carefully the timeline is planned, how many details are accounted for, or how much preparation goes into the day, it often isn't until you look back through your photographs that the moments truly begin to sink in.

Just before Steffy and Ben's first look, I encouraged them to slow down. This wasn't the moment to rush through. It wasn't the time to worry about a timeline running a little behind. This was the moment they had been planning for all along.

The gorgeous florals were in place. The stunning floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows at Lakes at Lacey flooded the room with sunshine and reflected the blue waters surrounding the venue. Photos from their childhoods were displayed throughout the space—a meaningful detail considering the bride and groom had known each other since they were kids. Every beautiful detail had been thoughtfully prepared.

But the real meaning of the day was about to happen.

And it's not a moment to miss.

When we intentionally slow down, our hearts have the opportunity to catch up with what is happening around us.

Before they opened their eyes to see one another, Steffy and Ben held hands and prayed together. It was such a sweet and grounding moment. Then they turned, and Ben's reaction to seeing his bride was overflowing with love, joy, and emotion.

It was one of those moments that reminds you what weddings are truly about. That first look set the tone for the ceremony that followed.

I suppose you could call it a ceremony, and technically it was. But honestly, it felt more like a worship service.

The songs reverberated through the soaring ceilings. Several pastors shared words that weren't simply advice or well wishes, but encouragement deeply rooted in Scripture. There was a sense of purpose and worship woven throughout the entire service. It was my favorite part of the day. And that's saying something because there were so many moments to love.

The celebration continued with fun games during the reception, joyful Indian dances, and incredible food. And oh, do I love Indian food! Before I had kids, I spent a couple months each year in India, so the culture has always held a special place in my heart. Seeing those traditions incorporated into the celebration made the evening even more meaningful.

From beginning to end, this was a day filled with purpose, worship, joy, and celebration.

Steffy and Ben, thank you for inviting me into such a significant day and trusting me to capture it. It was an honor to witness and document the beginning of this new chapter together.
