HYATT LODGE OAK BROOK NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING: MELISSA MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY: ZACH + KAYLA

If you ever needed a sign to get married on NYE let this be it. If you ever doubted if a freezing day in the midwest can still blow your veil right off, this is it! In the world of NY, there's nothing like the ball drop at midnight. In the world of my NYE weddings, it's the epic balloon drop! You throw in a vintage car at the Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook and we've got ourselves one heck of a way to kick off the new year and for Zach + Kayla, a new life.

3 TIPS IF YOU'RE PLANNING A NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING:

1.) It's super helpful if your wedding is at the same place your guests are staying. People don't want to be out on the road on NYE. This will keep your guests partying long after midnight.

2.) Plan your timing accurately. If you want photos with natural daylight (the answer to that outta be yes!) you're going to need a first-look, and get your portraits done sooner than your ceremony. It will likely be dark after your ceremony. That generally means you have an earlier start to you day, and a bit later of a night with your vendors. Plan how long you contract your vendors accordingly. It's a longer day than usual.

3.) Book Early! Reserve your venue & date with your favorite vendors sooner rather than later. NYE is such a popular date I was offered a wedding not only on the same day but from the same venue holding two weddings in different areas of the hotel.

Glad I chose you Zach + Kayla! You and your day were as classic as the epically classic car you had. What a start to the year! And what a start to this next chapter in life for you guys! So glad I got to capture it!
